What do San Ysidro homeowners ask about salt water conversion?
Is salt water better than chlorine for my San Ysidro pool?
It's the same chemistry (chlorine disinfection), the salt cell just generates chlorine automatically from dissolved salt. Water feels softer, chlorine spikes are rare, and you stop hauling chlorine from the store.
How often does a salt cell need cleaning in San Ysidro?
Every 3 to 6 months depending on water hardness. Hard water (San Ysidro) cells need more frequent cleaning to keep output up.
Will salt water damage my pool equipment?
Modern pool equipment is salt-rated. Older metal fixtures (ladders, light rings, handrails) can corrode faster. Anything vulnerable on your San Ysidro pool gets flagged before converting.
