What do National City homeowners ask about salt water conversion?
Is salt water better than chlorine for my National City pool?
It's the same chemistry (chlorine disinfection), the salt cell just generates chlorine automatically from dissolved salt. Water feels softer, chlorine spikes are rare, and you stop hauling chlorine from the store.
How often does a salt cell need cleaning in National City?
Every 3 to 6 months depending on water hardness. Hard water (National City) cells need more frequent cleaning to keep output up.
Will salt water damage my pool equipment?
Modern pool equipment is salt-rated. Older metal fixtures (ladders, light rings, handrails) can corrode faster. Anything vulnerable on your National City pool gets flagged before converting.
