What do Jamul homeowners ask about salt water conversion?
Is salt water better than chlorine for my Jamul pool?
It's the same chemistry (chlorine disinfection), the salt cell just generates chlorine automatically from dissolved salt. Water feels softer, chlorine spikes are rare, and you stop hauling chlorine from the store.
How often does a salt cell need cleaning in Jamul?
Every 3 to 6 months depending on water hardness. Hard water (Jamul) cells need more frequent cleaning to keep output up.
Will salt water damage my pool equipment?
Modern pool equipment is salt-rated. Older metal fixtures (ladders, light rings, handrails) can corrode faster. Anything vulnerable on your Jamul pool gets flagged before converting.

Jamul is served by Mix of municipal and private wells. Hardness runs variable (variable). City notes list this as the usual local condition: rural well water plus longer service routes.
