What do San Marcos homeowners ask about filter service?
How often should I clean my pool filter in San Marcos?
Cartridges: every 3-6 months. DE: every 3-6 months plus annual teardown. Sand: backwash every 4-6 weeks, full media change every 5 years.
Is cartridge or DE better for my San Marcos pool?
DE catches finer particles, so water is crystal clearer. Cartridge is easier to maintain and doesn't require DE powder. Most newer pools are cartridge. Older pools often have DE or sand.
My San Marcos pool filter pressure keeps rising fast. What's wrong?
Usually debris overload or scale. In San Marcos's hard water, calcium can embed in cartridge pleats. Acid wash or replacement is the fix.
